Itinerary Details

  • Destinations: Dar-es-salaam → Katavi Np → Mahale Np

  • Start/End: Nyerere Airport

  • After a warm welcome at the airport, you will be taken to your overnight hotel in Dar-es-salaam. Relax after your long flights and have a good night’s sleep. If time permits, you can tour the colourful and vibrant city of Dar to get a flavour of Tanzanian city life and culture.

  • • Transfer to Arusha Airport Fly to Katavi National Park

    • Overnight at Chada Camp.

    After a leisurely breakfast, you will begin your journey with your guide to  Nyerere Airport. You will Fly southwest to Central Tanzania at a region called Tabora for refueling, this scenic flight allows you to explore the richnes and vast wilderness of Tanzania until you arrive at Katavi NP/Chada Camp.

    Chada is a classic expedition camp in a million acers of Mammals. here you can explore the expansive miombo woodlands, plains vast herds Buffalos, Massive pools of hippos There are also healthy populations of lions and leopards.

  • • Fly Mahale National Park 

    • Overnight in Greystock Mahale

    After a delicious breakfast, you will depart to Mahale National Park.

    Once you arrive in Mahale you will be met by our fabulous guides and taken by dhow to camp. This boat trip takes about an hour and a half and skims along the shoreline of the impossibly clear Lake Tanganyika with the Mahale Mountains rising from the beach.

    At Mahale we share the mountains and the lake with so many animals, but it's the chimps that really inspire us. You will meet the most privileged primates on the planet: the wild chimpanzees of Mahale. Time spent with them is time away from everything else that is ordinary. But, there's more. Hike the forest paths looking for all the other animals who quietly live here. Take a kayak out for a dawn paddle and enjoy the sunrise coming up over the mountains. Have sundowners on our old wooden dhow, stopping to fish along the way, or just relax on the warm sands of the beach with a drink in hand.

  • • Flight to Arusha Airport 

    As you observe the shores of Lake Tanganyika and listening to distant calls from the Mahale Mountains behind, relish a final delicious breakfast before your guide takes you to the airstrip to catch your flight to Dar. This airport will be your final stop in the local area before heading back home with unforgettable memories of where we truly come from as humans.
